While I appreciate music and dancing, I'm not a fan of the clubbing scene. The combination of intoxicated people in a crowded space with flashing lights can be overwhelming, leading to anxiety instead of enjoyment. So, when I discovered "sober raves" in Singapore – daytime events without alcohol – I was intrigued.
On a sunny Saturday morning, I attended Wake Up & Dance by The Breakfast Club to see if it would change my perspective on partying. Spoiler alert: it did.
Arriving early at Salt Fitness in Gillman Barracks, my colleagues and I were initially shy. We visited the "Word of the Year" booth to create custom keychains symbolizing our wishes for 2026.

After a hesitant start, the DJ played the perfect tune – Mommae by Jay Park – and we found ourselves energized, singing along and dancing freely.
The event continued with more attendees joining in, enjoying a mix of recent hits and timeless classics while sipping on handcrafted matcha-based drinks.

This edition of Wake Up & Dance had a fitness theme, aligning with the "new year, new me" mindset. Attendees could participate in Salt Fitness classes, including my first spin class.
Although endurance isn't my forte, I embraced the challenge, pushing through the intense workout and discovering a newfound appreciation for spinning.

Despite the struggle to keep up, the dynamic music and engaging workout made the experience rewarding. Post-workout, we indulged in healthy overnight oats and coffee-based drinks.
